Hi, i'm looking for a harlequin book i've read some years ago. But I can't remember the title, or the writher or even the character's names. All I remember is that it's about a noble that inrreted his families properties and many debts so he marries a riche girl who is forced by her father to marrie him for his title. She try to drown herself after the ceremony but he saves her. Than he discover that her father had whipped her back when she tryed to run away. They become friends and he gives her a baby lion as a pet that she names bob. If anyone knows which book is this please tell me... thanks.

Hm... That doesn't sound like anything I've read. I'm not sure if this is helpful at all, but there's a website I like to visit that has a database of historical romance books. I like using it to search up stories because sometimes I don't know what story it is, but I have the character names... In your case, it's even more difficult, but maybe you can find something there?

Here's the link - http://historicalromancewriters.com/index.cfm

There's search options on the top left navigation bar.

The website is kind of busy since there's so much information on it, but I started looking. There's a "Browse Books by Sub-genre" option and I've been looking under "Historical - Marriage of Convenience".

When you say you read this book "some years ago", it's hard to know how exactly long ago it is Razz But I've been ignoring the titles that came out in the last 3 years and I was able to find some that seem like they might match. Only up to "Cs" in title though, so there's still a long way to go...

Anyways, here's the links.

A Convenient Bride by Betty Henrichs - http://www.eyeonromance.com/bookinfo.cfm?BookID=43577

A Convenient Marriage by Debbie Raleigh - http://www.eyeonromance.com/bookinfo.cfm?BookID=3124

A Bride for His Convenience by Edith Layton - http://www.eyeonromance.com/bookinfo.cfm?BookID=36111

Duel of Hearts by Anita Mills - http://www.eyeonromance.com/bookinfo.cfm?BookID=5012

Fortune Hunter by Deborah Simmons - http://www.eyeonromance.com/bookinfo.cfm?BookID=1901

Well, there's some suggestions! There's a LOT of books... Rolling Eyes Anyways, I got up to the end of titles starting with "F", so if you want to continue, here's the link to the page I was going through - http://www.eyeonromance.com/theme.cfm?genreID=318

Hope that helps! ^^

I think it could be Barbara Cartland's The wild unwilling wife —no Harlequin book here. I think I read the French version ages ago (something like 20 years ago) and have vague memories of the book that seem to fit the description.

Oh awesome! We found out what it is!! And based on the title, it would have taken FOREVER to get there on the list... Laughing So good thing someone knew~

You're very welcome ^^ Isn't it such a handy little site? I stumbled across it by accident and quickly added it to my favorites list! It has so much information on romance books.
