PostSubject: Favorite Live Action Drama/Movie   Wed Oct 23, 2013 11:22 pm

I have only watched a few live action drama/movies. These are:

  • Gokusen

  • Hana Yori Dango (Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean)

  • Hana Kimi (Japanese and Korean)

  • Nodame Cantabile

  • Itazura Na Kiss (Taiwanese and Japanese)

  • Absolute Boyfriend

  • Death Note 1 & 2

  • Rurouni Kenshin

These are the live action drama/movies that I remember. I want to watch other live action drama/movies and so I'm looking for favorites/suggestions. Thanks'. Smile

Yay Gokusen! It's been a while since I last saw that, but it was really fun! But the subsequent sequels became kind of repetitive. Though really, I only watched 1 & 2, and never got around to 3 or the movie.

I'm not much of a TV person, so I haven't watched a whole lot of live actions. Besides Gokusen, the only other one I remember watching is Hana Yori Dango.

I used to watch dramas, but even then... Lol, I would check out the ones with actors/actresses who I like, so yeaaah... XD

Sorry I can't be helpful in that regards Laughing

Hmm... Besides Gokusen, I haven't really watched any other live action adaptations. Which is too bad, since I really want to watch Rurouni Kenshin. If it's not an adaptation, Hero and My Boss My Hero was quite entertaining. But they're rather old series though...

3. Skip Beat! (Taiwanese).

4. Death Note (All of the movies).

Now I have "Kyou Koi wo Hajimemasu Live Action Movie" on my to-watch list. lol!

Yah, Gokusen became kind of repetitive. I finished up to season 2. I felt that they were not able to continue the kind of momentum that they had from season 1. There has been a live action craze in my country that's why I became aware of manga/anime turned into live actions.

Thanks'! Smile

Is Detective Conan good? Oddly enough, I haven't heard much about it (positive or negative) so I usually skip it when I'm hunting for dramas and movies. I honestly don't know much about the story but the art looks cool. Guess I should give it a try...?

I'm not sure about the live action ones but the anime version is ok. I tend to read it instead. I like that it can range from short cases (a few chapters) to longer ones that span more than one tankoubon. There's a continuous thread that holds the plot together (Shinichi being shrunk and his hunt for the people in black) but there are also a lot of side stories (Conan vs Kaito Kid for example) and other short cases (usually no theme, unlike in Kidaichi) and he has a lot of side/ recurring characters to make it interesting if slightly confusing. The current plot's thickening and I'm honestly at the edge of my seat waiting for the next tankoubon...

I don't have much experience when it comes to mystery (novels, dramas, etc) so I'm never really sure what to expect. I do, however, enjoy a continuous story. I find that when each episode/chapter/installment can be read as a standalone I'm less likely to complete it (evidenced by my half-completed manga graveyard Embarassed). I'll give this a try as soon as I can find some.

I recently watched Legal High (First Season) and am in the middle of watching the Second Season. I've never ever heard anyone speak Japanese so fast...My mother was a motor mouth but not in league with the male lead. I find the series pretty funny, Heiwa Fansubs is subbing it and you can get it at D-Addicts.com

I just knew I'd be back  Wink

But this time, I've only got one to add to my list. It's an older drama that aired in 2003 called Yoiko no Mikata starring Sho from Arashi. I've only seen the first two episodes (my goodness this show is hard to find!) and I'm really enjoying it. The kiddies are so cute! Well, so is Sho but that's a different matter  Razz.

I haven't really gotten any new dramas but I'm definitely looking forward to the Kuroshitsuji movie that will be out in Japan on January 18. Mizushima Hiro is acting again and this is this first thing he'll be in cheers. Kyaaa! Can you tell I'm excited??

OHHHH ! I loved Live action dramas :
- Hana Yori Dango
- Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge
- Crow Zero

And for movies:
- Kimi ni todoke
- Strobe Edge
- Blue Spring ride
- Koizora
- Paradise kiss
- I Give My First Love To You

I prefer movies because drama are often different from the manga or it's too crazy for me.
For instance in Ouran Koukou Host Club, there are a lot of weird scenes. In the anime it does not matter but I can't bear to watch weird things in real life.
